I stopped by to take photos of the garden at Poplar Grove today, and Jennings said, "Hey, quick take a picture of Winston"
"Why?"
"Because he's smiling."
So, there you go.

I've just (as in, five minutes ago?) discovered your blog. My aunt (actually, my father's elderly first cousin) absolutely, and more-or-less idolotrously, ADORED her very-smart King Charles Spaniel, which recently died of old age. I (and I'm a pretty doggy-guy, with terriers my whole life and three in the house as I type this)was amazed to hear from her of the "King charles Community".....apparently, folks who own those dogs are utterly devoted to them. I gather from my aunt that there's an entire, vibrant, constantly active Yahoo message board dealing exclusively with the doings of King Charles' spaniels.
I'll be sending this link to my aunt (of whom I'm quite fond; unfortunately, she's decided that she's at the age at which getting another King Charles would be unfair to the dog).
Admiringly,

P.S. I've, just this past month, bought my own 220 year old house with a formerly famous and massively-neglected (for the past fifteen years or so) garden. Tell me about dumpsters.....and convincing yourself "Just give me five years....I can turn ALL of this around, given time....."
