The Classic Country House

So there you are, just minding your own business, searching on Google for, oh, say, garden tuteurs, and you stumble across the most marvelous site, and you wonder how in the world you haven't found it before.

That was exactly what happened to me the other day, and I was looking at garden tuteurs, and I did stumble across the most marvelous site, Henhurst Interiors.

Henhurst Interiors is a most gorgeous blog and website dashingly maintained by designer Phyllis Trevor Higgerson.

And then I followed the link to her artfully curated Pinterest site.  And that's when I fell in love.  I don't think I've ever found a website, blog and Pinterest page where I literally love every image.  Every single one.

If you love classic, country house style, elegant, relaxed and formal all at once, you'll adore the Henhurst Interiors sites.  On the website you'll enjoy images from Henhurt's portfolio,

and on Pinterest and the blog, some well chosen images from other sites and blogs, and beautifully photographed original images from her travels.

As I scrolled through Phyllis's Pinterest page, I found myself re-pinning so many great country house pictures that I thought it might be easier to just put a note on our page- "Yeah, what she said."

If you haven't found Henhurst Interiors yet, I hope you'll hop over soon, you're in for a treat!

I am on my way to take a peek. I think I spotted a few Virginia houses. The line up of Barbour jackets really had me, as did the charming pantry.

Certainly a new name to me and deligthed that you mentioned her. She has that style nailed outright - the art of country with all the soft charm, but without the cutesy stuff (which I personally do not like). Not easy at all to achieve - most elusive. And just fabulous when it works.

And importantly, what on earth are garden tuteurs? I'll have to go look that up as well!

Yeah,I agree with what you said!

Just visited her blog and "loi" and behold, there she was with another of my favorite bloggers, Loi of Tone on Tone. Maybe it's a small world after all.

Hi, I totally agree!

Tuteur is actually from the French word for trainer (You know, like a tutor?) It is an obelisk shaped trellis for "training" climbing plants. I was thinking about doing a post on them.

These country homes are wonderful! Did you wish to have a country house with a very stunning appearance like any of these? Because, seriously, I do! =) They are attractive, and it has given me the good sense that if I get to have my own country home, I’m going to feel my desired comfort most of the time. ^.^
