Best in Class 4: Carafes

The Rolls-Royce of thermal carafes.  If you're looking for the best, this is it, the Alfi Juwel.

Originally crafted in 1918 for the Pullman cars of American railroads, this vacuum pot has adorned tables for generations.

You've probably seen it in movies, European hotels, and in establishments known for impeccable service.

The hinged lid seals tight, and the double-wall vacuum glass liner creates a vacuum between the walls to keep liquids hot or cold for up to 12 hours.

The Juwel ranges from 0.5 liters, to 1.5 liters and comes in chrome-plated brass, lacquered aluminum Ivory Creme with a chrome-plated handle and lid,

Velvet Burgundy red,

Midnight Black

and Gold Plated Brass.  Juwel looks great in traditional or contemporary interiors.

Alfi has been manufactured with precision German engineering since 1914.  The Opal, in chrome with wicker was designed in 1930.  This is a great look for a country home, for a guest room, or summer serving.

The Achat carafe, designed by Tassilo von Grolman in 1986, was awarded the Busse Longlife jury award in 2002 for products expected to hold their market value for many years.

I love the ease and graceful one-handed perfect pouring operation of the Alfi Juwel carafes.  No dribbles, no mess.  Alfi sells many varieties of carafes which vary in style, materials and cost, but you can find the Juwel by clicking here.

For such a sturdy and top line carafe, the price is not excessive.
I love the lacquered aluminum. A piece of art.
Happy Thursday.

I love the first wicker one, I have now reached the stage in life where I put my money into household things - not sure whether to laugh or cry about that.

Hi Ann, Thanks so much for the suggestion. I went back and edited the post with links. Great idea!

Tabitha, Me too! :)

Design is all in the Details- Thank you. Alfi makes lots of other products and carafes in plastic etc., that I'm not familiar with, but the Juwel is really gorgeous isn't it? I like that it has a hard glass liner so beverages stay hot or cold and the flavor stays true.

Teresa- I agree with you. Happy Thursday to you too.
